Variety Names ‘Wynonna Earp’ One Of 2016’s Best New Shows

SAN DIEGO, CA–(Marketwired – Dec 16, 2016) – Wynonna Earp, distributed globally by IDW Entertainment, a subsidiary of IDW Media Holdings (OTC PINK: IDWM), is “one of the most enjoyable genre escapes of the year” says Variety, which listed the popular TV series as one of the Best New Shows of 2016.

In addition to this latest accolade, Wynonna Earp was also awarded Best New Show 2016 for E!’s TV Scoop Awards during a summer users poll.

Wynonna Earp is based on the IDW Publishing comic book created by Beau Smith and stars Melanie Scrofano (Gangland), Tim Rozon (Being Human), Shamier Anderson (Defiance), and Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Avengers: Age of Ultron). Showrunner Emily Andras (Lost Girl, Killjoys) developed the series for television and serves as Executive Producer.

Wynonna Earp is a fast-paced, contemporary thriller that follows Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter as she battles demons and other supernatural beings. Wynonna is a witty and wild modern day gunslinger, using her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice. Season two is set to air on Syfy in 2017 with twelve new episodes.
